North Market opened its doors in a neighborhood with few options for affordable fresh food. Five years later, we’re much more than a grocery store — we’re a community anchor. Because we’re owned by a non-profit, we continue to put the needs of the neighborhood first, even as other stores come and go. 

People come to us for great food at fair prices, nutrition and fitness programs, and products from local entrepreneurs. And it’s having a big impact, from spurring development up and down the block to keeping more dollars in the neighborhood.

Over these years, we stuck with our community through civil unrest, supply chain issues and a pandemic, and we’ve tried things no for-profit store could. We’re not slowing down. Look forward to more food offerings, more rewarding experiences, more space for local businesses, and more opportunities for neighbors to build a more vibrant future together.
